Economic Vitality

Our economic vitality committee, chaired by Jimmie Coleman, is focused on three things:  improving existing business, attracting new business, and ensuring that our downtown district is healthy and thriving.  The committee consists of the paid employees of SRA who work hand in hand with the City of Selma Planning & Development Department, local businesses, developers, and prospects to ensure our downtown is healthy and growing.

The second Eggs & Issues meeting was held on May 20, 2026, at Reflections Coffee Shoppe. The featured speaker was Stacia Robinson, director of the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs (now the Office of Civic Engagement).

The inaugural Eggs & Issues meeting was held at the Downtowner Restaurant.
